Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life; means, because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one’s awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one’s rights, and in the process evolve as a better citizen.

Placement Duration
We encourage a stay of a minimum of 4 weeks. The average volunteer placement is around three months which allows volunteers to establish solid relationships in the community and contribute a reasonable amount of time to the projects. For volunteer teachers, it allows them to complete one school term in most cases. It is important to recognize that, although the volunteers will benefit enormously from their experience volunteering with Amore Charity Organization, our main responsibility is to provide consistent and effective assistance to the community.

Volunteer Teacher in Nigeria – Programme Coordination
It is very important to maintain consistency and continuity in relationships, projects and work already underway. For this reason, you will be introduced to the relevant teachers in the local schools by a member of our staff.

There are three school terms during the year for both primary and secondary schools. The academic year starts in September which is similar to the academic year in Europe. Term dates can vary slightly but are roughly:

Term 1: September to December
Term 2: January to March/April (depending on when Easter falls)
Term 3: April to July
If your placement as a volunteer teacher in Nigeria or any part of Africa includes one or more of the term breaks, please be aware that there will be little work to do at the schools, although volunteers can and organize additional classes for the holiday periods if wished.

It’s no news that working in rural areas require a lot of aids which varies from housing itself to facilities in the said house to make a living worth the while, we are talking basic facilities like beds and mattresses, bathing buckets, water, lighting, etc. The property you are volunteering with could be in a neighboring village, or a nearby city, so long as it could assist some of our team accommodate, it’s okay. It could be in any city or environment in Nigeria or anywhere in Africa or globally, it’s fine…so long as it serves the purpose for which it’s being given and you the giver is fulfilled by your giving.

During Charity activities, movement is constantly made by members from one location to the other attending to the poor and needy. Relief materials and volunteers are moved from one point to another, some times it requires flight, boat/ship or motor vehicle to make these movements.

This is where Amore Charity Organization invites all well meaning donors and volunteers to help in the area of volunteering vehicles to enhance our daily operations.

Vehicles like; Helicopters, Boats, Cars, Buses and Bikes as the case may be will be highly appreciated. These vehicles could be volunteered for a short period like; weekly, monthly, yearly or outright gifting to our organization. Please Get involved today!

Everyone needs a little help from time to time and while many poor and helpless elderlies lean on friends and family members for support, there may be some instances in which it’s necessary to seek additional assistance or long-term care.

“Caregiver” is a general term referring to anyone who provides care for a person who needs extra help. This could mean a family caregiver, a respite caregiver, a home caregiver, or a primary caregiver, to name but a few. In the context of elderly care, this job title typically refers to a private duty home caregiver or senior caregiver.

As the name suggests, private duty home caregivers perform care-related activities in the home and personal care, typically related to one’s everyday life and relieve the caregiver burden of a family member.

Who Can Be A Care Giver?

Anyone who has any or some of these qualities: a loving heart, patience, tolerance, understanding, entertaining, funny and above all, could dedicated few of his/her hours, days, weeks or months to take care of the helpless kids, elderly or sick one. You don’t need to have a specific qualification for this service.
